Well, well, it's been quite some time since my last post here. I've been working on my main piece a lot lately (not much spare time) and am beginning to write out rough drafts of my chapters. I am writing a narrative poem in the style influenced by Homer and i never understood why they made their stories in verse. The only reason i can come up with is that it helped him memorize his work because he didn't actually write his tales, it was all oral. But still, i feel you are severely limiting your story by being so selective in the choice of words you use based solely on their syllables. I am writing in a purely free verse but will still use metres instead of paragraphs if that makes sense. I think writing in hexameter verse is neat but honestly to me it sounds much more of an unnecessary hassle.
