An Idea for New Forum?

Sooner or later every writer will need to post:-

A concept of their story - the concept being a single sentence containing three elements (subject, opposition, outcome) - to entice an editor to look at your work.

Followed by a single paragraph 'blurb'.

These could be posted for all members to make a comment.

I'll now go back to sleep.

Thank you

Do you mean a place where people can ask for an editor to go over their story? The Showcase section might be able to do that- people would post an excerpt for their story with a request for an editor to go over the rest. Otherwise, maybe a subforum in Showcase?

Also, I might be misinterpreting you here, but by the first sentence it feels as if posting a story concept will be mandatory for members. Could you clarify on this point?

No - nothing is mandatory. However - What I am suggesting is that once a writer has a completed work ready for posting to an agent/publisher, then you need to make sure your "concept and blurb" are correct. This could be done in the 'showcase' or anywhere else. Okay?

Hey Hawk!

It's great having you here.

I know what you're referring to. To get an agent or a publisher you need to write a solid query letter, which includes a short summation of your concept and what the story is about. I think that it's very useful to get feedback on query letters.

From what I know - without those things you would never stand a chance of publication.
