Hello to all of you, the fine people and great writers of Mythic Scribes. I've been putting this off since I got here, and that's probably unfair as I've been posting quite a bit. I just wanted to get a feel for the community.

I've never been published but I'd really like to be. I've got about five ideas which I think are strong enough to warrant a novel or series, and two of them I'm pretty excited to try and write. The others are just a few pages of notes in a binder that I don't want to think about. I did work with a professional editor on a short story once, and I found that experience to be invaluable.

Otherwise I have a two year old and a newborn at home, and I'll be trying to write as a stay at home dad while my wife works. We'll see how long that works out. I have a BS in Marketing and Economics at a business school, but I haven't really done anything with it yet.

And that's me. Hello to you, too.

Hello everyone!

Who were the moderators before you? How did Black Dragon pick you?

Devor and I became Mods at the same time, quite some years ago. I volunteered for the job, because this is only a voluntary thing, and I got selected thanks to various factors in play around here back then.

Reaver was Mod before us, together with others like Starconstant, Ravana, Myrddin and Legendary Sidekick.

It has been quite a ride!

What? I don't think that's quite right.

Ravana, Myrddin and Starconstant were moderators. I made a post suggesting Black Dragon form an article team, for which he offered me Moderator, but I turned it down. Then I thought you were promoted at the same time as Reaver, Steerpike, Ben Claymore, Chilari, Phil the Drill, and Legendary Sidekick? I became moderator just after that, because I needed to edit posts for a project (which ended up failing). He assembled a big team all at once and has only recruited a few people one by one since.

None of which are still active here, I do believe.

Legendary Sidekick is one of quite a few people I miss. :(

You can check the data yourself you know where, June 13 2012 we were promoted together that day, I remember it very clearly!

You were still using your barbarian avatar back then, good old times of Mythic Scribes.

Steerpike was promoted some time after us.

Oh wow you're right! How did I forget that? My apologies. We're like moderator birthday buddies.

So it was:

Ravana, Myrddin and Starconstant. And I totally forgot about JCFarnham.
Then: Reaver, Chilari, Phil the Drill, and Legendary Sidekick
Then: Me and Sheila
Then: Steerpike, Ben Claymore, and Telcontar
Then: Ankari and T.Allen.Smith
And then skip.knox

I find it sad to think how many of them have dropped or faded away over the years.

Hello! Kudos to you my friend, caring for your babes at home and nurturing ideas for a novel. I have five children (now grown) and feel that parenting nurtured my creativity, while at the same time consumed my priorities. You may want to consider dictation (I have used a text to speech phone app). I can imagine you walking with one babe in a sling, and another in the stroller.... Also, with your wife working full time, I expect there will be a role reversal at times when she's home and wanting some snuggle time... Make sure to carve yourself out a special place and time for your ideas to manifest! Wishing you the best... I have been working on a series for 10+years... lots of chapters...lots of words... and so much developemental editing yet to complete!
All the best!
