I know. They were vicious creatures, and they're slowly returning to literature. Blame shakespeare; A Midsummer's Night's Dream established Tink as we know her.
There's the Wicked Lovely series [soon to be made into a movie], The book War of the Oaks by Emma Bull, and I think writer Holly Black has some of the more vicious fae.

I think Shakespeare might have got the ball rolling, but I don't think you can blame him. IIRC Oberron, Puck and Titania (sp?) might not have been as vicious as older fae but they were still devious tricksters that played with mortal lives.
