I would have a "mighty" sea creature known as Jocantaro, half octopus, half spider crab, which sure it would be a blast at the parties! And even better, since he (or she, or beyond-binary, who knows?) comes with it's own absurd rock surf theme song (in spanish). Just imagining myself invoking him in the middle of an epic battle with that song as the spell...

Ok, fine, I'll be serious now. I think I would like to have an iberian wolf (also known as spanish wolf). Since it's a particular grey wolf subspecies just from my own country, that would kind of nice. There are other particular cool iberian species that could be interesting like the iberian/spanish lynx or the iberian imperial eagle (even the name is cool), but I'll stick with my first (serious) option... Or can I have two?

Badger. Badgers are compact, but will go toe to toe with any other creature they encounter. Honey badgers in africa for instance will run off lions.

They are also relatively intelligent creatures with the ability to stand on their hind legs and fairly dexterous paws/claws. Their ability to dig quickly could also come in handy as a familiar.
